HEC and Midtown Church are hosting the 2nd Workforce Development Symposium to tackle the most pressing issues related to drivers of health. This includes employment and workplace readiness from a neighborhood and data driven solutions focus. We’ll be joined by national and local experts to share their successes and pivots in implementing workforce initiatives that lead to community transformation.


The symposium brings together participants from education, government, business, faith and community-based organizations to learn and share how to meet the employment needs in our region. Symposium attendees can expect a dynamic lineup of presentations and discussions that spotlight inclusive, data-driven strategies to close employment gaps. 


Sessions will include:

  • An employer panel of local executives discussing challenges and solutions for current workforce needs across the region.

  • A discussion on second chance hiring and the untapped potential of justice-involved individuals in the workforce.

  • An employee-focused panel highlighting both success stories and ongoing challenges.

  • A session on building effective partnerships between training programs, employers, and job seekers.
