At the International Rescue Committee Sacramento office, we offer the RFCCMED Program, which supports clients in enrolling in childcare training and starting their own in-home childcare businesses. This program is available to individuals who have been in the United States for less than five years and are Afghan or Iraqi Special Immigrants, refugees, asylees, Afghan or Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees, survivors of human trafficking, Cuban or Haitian entrants, or survivors of torture.
Through this program, we have helped many clients in the Sacramento county become fully licensed and establish safe, well-equipped in-home childcare businesses. Our providers have completed all required training, meet licensing standards, and are ready to care for children.
We support families seeking childcare by connecting them with these licensed in-home providers, and we also assist individuals who want to become childcare providers by guiding them through the entire training and licensing process.
