The U.S. government has paused all visa processing and immigration benefits applications for Afghan nationals.
The travel ban country rules above also apply to you.
The pause in visa processing includes Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) and other visas that were previously exempt from the June 4 travel ban.
Afghans who have visas in hand are still able to travel. At least for now, Afghans who have already received an SIV or other visa can continue to travel to the U.S.
Afghan SIV holders already in the U.S. can still apply for and receive support from resettlement agencies.
