Primary Focus: World Refugee Day Event
One of the committee’s main initiatives is planning and coordinating an annual World Refugee & Immigrant Day event in June 2026. This event celebrates the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees in Sacramento County and beyond. The event typically includes cultural performances, storytelling, resource fairs, and community dialogues to foster greater understanding and appreciation for newcomer communities. This event is also a place for local elected officials to re-commit to welcoming newcomers to our region.
